Recollect Your Self

Recollection means to gather again as in gathering memories of past events. In this sense, it’s usually a waste of time and energy, as people usually wallow in regret or at least longing for the “good old days.” A better meaning is tranquility of mind or religious contemplation. In the whirlwind of life, it’s difficult to find tranquility when so much of our time and energy is spent on mindless activities or scattering ourselves in thoughts and emotions about the past or future (See Be a Positive Time Traveler). We must find the calm center in the midst of this whirlwind, the eye of the storm, the unmoving hub in the center of this playground merry go round.
In the core or heart of everything, from a cell to a merry-go-round to a galaxy, there is a singularity, a calm center of Being, a place of Presence and Creativity removed from the chaotic swirl of action, senses, thoughts, and emotions. In the stillness of your heart, thoughts are replaced by knowing, emotions by feeling, and actions by isness or being. When you do the clearing and rewiring of the Three Pillars of The Way taught by awarenessnow.com, you recollect this knowing, feeling, and being and become tranquil in your contemplation of life. This calm center is the place in consciousness where you remember who you truly are. In a sense, you are Osiris, re-collecting his scattered members and resurrecting to defeat the disintegrating centrifugal force of Seth. In this calm center, you are unaffected by the centrifugal force of the whirlwind that wants to throw you far from the center with the force of chaotic activity, thoughts, and emotions. The farther you drift from your center, the stronger the centrifugal force becomes.
Being on the edge of the merry-go-round may be fun at first. Some people pride themselves on their ability to live on the edge. But they may get thrown for a loop, as the above image shows, and after years of this, it gets tiring, it gets old, and they yearn to return to the calm center of being, also shown in the image. This isn't the boring status quo of a mediocre life. On the contrary, it's the exciting life of a God-realized being. You realize that you've been playing in the playground of material sense existence, and now you engage in the real living, in the real work of fulfilling your purpose from the spiritual center of your life.
To find this center, go within away from the outer thoughts, emotions, and actions. Find the place of stillness within through deep breathing and the Three Pillars (See Reconnect to Spirit Through the Heart). Accept what is with the feeling of gratitude. Become whole, complete, fulfilled with the inner knowing of the reality of who you are, what this dream of life is. And become One, Eternal, Infinite Being in the Consciousness of God. Then you will recollect yourself.
