Live Your Life With E's

Why do we exist? This thought occurred to me the other day while I was clearing. If life is a dream, an illusory play, or a game, what’s the point? Why did Divine Intelligence create us as dream characters, actors, or avatars and put us in this unreal situation? I thought of three reasons, and they all begin with the letter E: entertainment, education, and expansion.

Entertainment is a big part of our lives. Children know this, and that’s why they can spend hours playing games. Souls in heaven, according to NDEers, are entertained by watching us go through our tragi-comic lives. Perhaps that’s why Matthew said in 18:4, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” When you stop taking yourself so seriously and see your life as a drama or comedy, you can be entertained by it. Instead of getting upset and swearing when your spouse tries to put celery down the garbage disposal while preparing Thanksgiving dinner and clogs it up, you laugh at the mess and the loss as if it were an episode of I Love Lucy. When you truly realize that life is a sitcom, you can relax and have fun.

Education. The word educate come from the Latin educare, meaning to draw out. In our highest Self, we already know everything. Education in its highest sense, is the process of drawing out what we already know in spirit and apply it to the problems of material existence. We are educated from the moment of conception till the moment of death, not just when we’re at a desk in a classroom or reading a book. Most of our lessons are learned from experience. Sometimes, the lessons are hard, but that’s what makes these experiences bearable. We learn what not to do next time. So, look for the lesson in every tragedy. That’s the silver lining.

Expansion. Expansion is a fancy word for growth. That's what we do physically from the moment of conception. But we expand or grow in other ways after birth through learning. Some, such as Master Omraam Mikael Aivanhov, teach that learning begins in the womb and pregnant women should talk to their fetuses (see Nurture Motherhood). Expansion could also mean expanding creation through procreation, not just new bodies but also new knowledge and inventions as cocreators with God (see Give Birth to Your Baby). We grow our bodies and minds by nourishing them with good food. Just as people occasionally eat junk food, which isn't good for our bodies, they can stuff their minds with nonsense from TV, gossip magazines, and social media. They can grow strong minds by reading the scriptures and other divinely inspired writings of every culture.

In summary, we exist to learn, grow, and have fun. When we conform with the three E’s, we can live a life of E’s.
