Give Your Gift

When Jesus’s disciples were gathered on Pentecost, the Holy Spirit descended upon them in tongues of fire. Paintings of this event show flames a few inches above the heads of the disciples. This is the location of the eighth chakra (see Tadasana for Attunement with God’s Will). When the eighth chakra is activated, you receive the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, which consists of four gifts of the mind (wisdom, understanding, counsel, and knowledge) and three gifts of the will (fortitude, piety, and fear of the Lord).

These gifts are used in a threefold action along with love to fulfill our mission (see What Is Your Mission). My mission is to be a channel for the flow of wisdom from the Mind of God. I have been gifted with the ability to make complex philosophical ideas simple and easy to understand through the use of analogy and metaphor often illustrated by nature. Others who have been blessed with this gift include Krishnamurti and Omraam Mihkael Aivanhov (see Be Receptive to the Master’s Darshan). They left behind their teachings encapsulated in series of books as their legacy to future generations. The Elixir of Life series and other books are my legacy. We were possessed of the Holy Spirit and the seven gifts so that we could better use this special gift of synthesis and simplification.

Besides the seven gifts, everyone is born with a special gift from the Holy Spirit that is directly connected to their mission in life. In 1 Corinthians 12:8-11 Saint Paul wrote. “To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.” These are just a few of the many gifts or special talents people are born with (see What Is Your Superpower). It is not something that should be used solely for earning a livelihood, for it is a gift that should be given freely to other, especially after retirement in the stage of sanyasin (see What Is Your Mission). It is your gift that’s meant to be given for the benefit of others. It is what you love to do, what you were meant to do, what gives your life meaning. No matter how humble, treasure it as your special gift from the Holy Spirit
