Get Off Your Buts

On the path of initiation, don’t just study theory but apply it to your life. Don’t just read interesting ideas but practice them. These flows contain priceless gems of wisdom but they are for naught if you don’t wear them. Most contain calls to action, either stated or implied.

This flow was initiated by practicing what I preached a few days ago (see Tadasana for Attunement with God’s Will). When I first wrote that flow, I thought, I don’t have a burning question now. So, I’ll try this when I do. But it should be used every morning, for the first thing you should ask upon arising every day is the burning question, “What is your will for me today, O Lord?”

So, I stood in the Tadasana pose, facing east toward the rising sun, and asked God what I should flow about today, and this is it: practice what you preach. Don’t be content with just theory. Get off your mental “but” and work. You know, “But I have too much to edit,” “But I have to do my taxes,” “But I’m not ready yet,” and so on.

Reread all the flows and see the calls for action, and if you have not applied them to your life, do so now. Ask yourself the questions; do the suggested actions or nonactions as the case may be. These flows are to become a book, The Elixir of Life, the subtitle of which is How to Become One With God. You cannot become one with God just by reading. You have to apply what you read. Drink the Elixir that is offered. It is medicine for your soul. You cannot heal if you don’t take your medicine. It may be bitter, but it is for your enlightenment.

St. John knew this when he wrote, “So I went to the angel and said to him, ‘Give me the little book.’ And he said to me, ‘Take and eat it, and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in the mouth.’” The little book is the flow St. John received (the entire Book of Revelation is a series of flows). The angel is St. John’s Higher Self or another messenger of God. When St. John first received the flows or visions, he was in a state of ecstasy of union with God. So, it was as sweet as honey in his mouth. But afterward, when he had to assimilate them in writing them down as prophecy of the end times, they were bitter. The prophet Ezekiel experienced the same sweetness and bitterness when he recieved a flow in Ezekiel 2:8-3:4 & 14 and was instructed to pronounce judgment upon the hypocrites who were among the Israelites.
