Defeat the Guardian of the Threshold

Omraam said in "Looking into the Invisible," "All those who have attempted to venture into the spiritual world without proper preparation have come face to face with...the Guardian of the Threshold.... This terrible being is in themselves; it is formed by accumulation of all their lower tendencies, their lust, sensuality, aggressiveness, etc. and it stands in their way and forbids them to enter the higher regions until they have earned the right to do so... Only he who is armed with knowledge and he who has succeeded in overcoming all his lower instincts can vanquish the Guardian of the Threshold."

In the hero's journey, the Guardian is the dragon that guards the treasure, the black knight who stands in the way and challenges the hero, the wicked witch who must be dissolved by the soapy water of purification. The Guardian is the visage of Darth Vader that Luke encounters in the astral plane of Dagobah, who turns out to be himself.

To defeat the Guardian, the hero must go through the initiation of death and resurrection. Not necessarily physical death, although some people who have died and come back experience a spiritual transformation and are no longer barred by the Guardian of the Threshold. But for most people, their ego must die. Their consciousness must undergo a near-death experience in which they lose the fear of death and all attachments to material things, money, prestige, physical pleasures, and all else that's not important. For only those who are fearless and unattached like the Buddha can withstand the illusions of Mara and pass the threshold into Nirvana.

This is the Elixir of Life, the knowledge of what is real and what is illusion. This body and mind with all their weaknesses are not who I am. This person writing this blog is just a projection of the mind of God, a character in a story or dream, an avatar in a vast, mulitlevel, multidimensional holographic game.

Once you realize this by going through the initiation of death and resurrection, you can vanquish the dragon, the black knight, the witch, and enter the spiritual realm, which is filled with light, love, bliss, and oneness, in which there is no duality, no separation, no division, and no pride, anger, envy, lust, greed, or sadness.
