Omraam said in "Golden Rules for Everyday Life," "The present must be a time of conscious, enlightened action, drawing its wisdom from the lessons of the past and stimulated by all the possibilities of the future."
In this quote, we see the proper, positive use of time travel in a threefold action of love, wisdom, and power. Yes, time travel is not just science fiction; we do it all the time with our minds. But most of the time, people do it incorrectly to their detriment. They travel to some traumatic event in the past, some loss or regret, and get stuck in guilt and self-recrimination or anger. Or they travel to an imaginary future built from the same stuff of nightmares: death, disease, injuries, poverty, and other possible losses. Or, if they're young, they imagine a prosaic future with a spouse, children, nice house and car, etc. If they're old, they imagine a prosaic retirement on some tropical beach sitting on the sand, watching the sun set on their life.
Positive time travel to the past is when we go back to recover the lessons that can help us in the present. Omraam said, "It is good to revert to the past from time to time, but only if you do so in order to recognise your mistakes or the wisdom of your actions and to learn from what you see. In this way, the past becomes a treasure-house of experience that can be used to live better in the future." If you do this, you will also discover that what happened in the past was the best possible outcome for all concerned.
Regarding positive time travel to the future, Omraam said, "You must learn to see beyond this shabby future and look for new horizons, open your windows onto the infinite so as to see what the future of mankind will really be, how God envisions it, and anticipate it already in your daily life." A golden age of love and enlightenment is coming, and by time traveling to it, you can begin to enjoy it now. But most of your time should be spent in the now. Even though our present age of technology and materialism is far from enlightened, we can be spiritual and enlightened by letting go of our attachments, going with the flow, and being in presence.
I am writing a series of short stories, "The TSM Chronicles," TSM being time-space machine, about a brother and sister who travel back to key events in history with their eccentric uncle to learn lessons for personal development. As George Santayana wrote, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." So time travel to your past and learn then go to the future and hope so that your present action is enlightened and optimistic.
